I couldn't watch Survivor Series, I can't put myself through four hours of this jobber infested garbage. But I did watch the Goldberg v Brock Lesnar II main event, and I will review that. I got kind of emotional during this as it was Goldberg's last ever match in the WWE. Just a quick note, sometime in the next two weeks I will be posting a Blog '50 Reasons Why No One Is Watching The WWE'...let's just say it's a long time in the making (there will be lots of ranting).
But this Blog is about Survivor Series 2016's main event, Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar... what's there to review. Goldberg destroyed Brock Lesnar in 1 minute and 25 seconds. The match started out with a staredown between the two, which was awesome. Goldberg was wearing his traditional gear, he looked great. Definitely in shape for this last match. Lesnar then tried to take down Goldberg, but Goldberg glared right back at him before spearing him to the mat.
The crowd erupted, Goldberg walked to the corner and glared at a wounded Lesnar. Goldberg proceeded to spear Brock Lesnar for a 2nd time, Goldberg then did his signature taunt to the crowd. From here Goldberg picked up Brock Lesnar for a Jackhammer, Goldberg hit the move before covering Lesnar 1...2...3. Goldberg wins the match that was 12 and a half years in the making.
A lot of people were annoyed by the result of this match, 'it makes the guy who beat the Undertaker's streak look weak' people are saying. First off, who else was going to beat Lesnar? Lesnar has wiped out Cena, Orton, The Undertaker, Sheamus, Del Rio, Rusev, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Triple H... pretty much every main eventer of the last couple of years. 'oh but they should have had either Shinsuke Nakamura or Samoa Joe beat him'. I can't stand either of those statements.
Shinsuke Nakamura is a flabby Japanese man that does ridiculous looking dances on his way to the ring, Lesnar would have eaten Nakamura alive. 'oh but, Nakamura does strong style'...IT'S FAKE. Try and justify this, Nakamura kicking Lesnar hard...IN A FAKE MATCH. I just hope that Lesnar does a German Suplex and Nakamura lands on his neck, there's strong style for ya. Samoa Joe is an obese couch potato, by the time Joe is established as a main eventer Brock Lesnar will be out of the WWE.
So in summary, I thought the booking for Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar made a lot of sense. Goldberg got hurt on RAW, and he was the only legit looking wrestler left to take on Lesnar. As for Survivor Series, all I know is that the RAW v Smackdown 'Main Event' Survivor Series match went for 52 minutes...that's way too much. I am so out of the loop of wrestling at the moment, the only two shows that I know I will review are Royal Rumble 2017 and WrestleMania 33...besides that, I couldn't guarantee anything.
