Rollins comes out alone to begin the 829th episode of Smackdown, Rollins talks about how fans have been talking about his last few months of accomplishments with the words "So What". Rollins says that he reached his breaking point on Monday Night so he took it out on John Cena. He sent John Cena to the emergency room with a broken nose. Cesaro comes out and says that Rollins has been going "on and on and on" etc. Cesaro tells him that Rollins is forgetting that Cena made him tap out.
Seth tells Cesaro to get out of the ring, but Cesaro says that since they are both in the ring and they are scheduled for a match. Then they should get this match started right now...
2. Singles Match
Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro
Mere seconds into this match Kevin Owens came down to ringside to do commentary, as soon as that happened you knew what the ending was going to be. Owens would attack Cesaro when he looked like he was about defeat Rollins. This was a solid match but it didn't match up to the match these two had in the main event of last week's Smackdown, of course the match ends with Owens stopping Cesaro from making Rollins tap out. Rollins and Owens beat down Cesaro a bit before walking away.
Rating-**1/2, Winner-Cesaro by Disqualification
3. Eight Man Tag Team Match w/The Prime Time Players on Commentary
The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) w/Xavier Woods and The Ascension vs. The Lucha Dragons and The Los Matadores w/El Torito
Before this match The New Day cut a promo on the entrance ramp about how they are the deserving WWE Tag Team Champions. Anyway this was a pretty entertaining match, the first bit of this match was The New Day and the Ascension picking apart Sin Cara, then Sin Cara got the hot tag to Kalisto and everything hit the fan. At one point in the melee El Torito hot this 619 looking move to Xavier Woods except Torito swung around the ring post. Los Matadores took out Konnor, Big E got Kalisto up for a Big Ending but following a confusion involving the tag Kalisto rolled up Viktor for the 1...2...3 to pick up their second victory in a week.
The Prime Time Players were pretty entertaining on commentary, Young had glasses on and he was taking notes on all the teams in the match.
Rating-**3/4, Winners-The Lucha Dragons and Los Matadores
Kevin Owens is shown walking out of the arena when Rich Brenann approaches him to tell him that he is in a Tag Team Match alongside Seth Rollins against Cesaro and a partner of his choice...as you can imagine Kevin Owens was not thrilled wit that ruling.
They show a career highlights package for Becky Lynch who I feel is just on the main roster to fill in Bayley's spot, she's competed in one match so far in her career and that was on RAW.
Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper cut a promo on the titatron where Wyatt says that it's Anyone But Roman Reigns, they defend Dean Ambrose for a bit before telling Roman Reigns to Run. Speaking of Roman Reigns, he has missed both RAW and Smackdown for this week, I think he's injured...
4. Singles Match
Rusev w/Summer Rae vs. Jack Swagger
Before this match Rusev gets on the mic and says that Lana is jealous of Summer Rae, when Rusev and Summer are about to start kissing Jack Swagger comes out to a large hometown pop. The match itself was nothing special whatsoever, Swagger got some momentum going but ultimately Rusev locked him in the Accolade. Swagger nearly broke out of the Accolade but it wasn't to be, he submitted only moments later. After the match Rusev went to assault Swagger but Swagger locked in his Patriot Lock to get a hometown pop.
They show Cesaro backstage in the locker room, Rich Brennan asks him about his plan for the Main Event tonight. Cesaro says that he has a plan...
5. Singles Match
Stardust vs. R-Truth
Following a two minute or so match Stardust connects with a Cross Rhodes for the pinfall victory over R-Truth. After the match Stardust cuts a promo about how Truth likes to say that the truth shall set him free, Stardust says something about heroes before trying to get this gold and black Stardust mask on R-Truth. Neville runs down to make the save, he hits an over the top rope dive before attempting the Red Arrow. But Stardust ran off threw the crowd.
Backstage Sheamus is interviewed by Jojo, Sheamus talks about how Orton won over the WWE Universe but that means nothing because he has the Money in the Bank briefcase and he will use that psychological advantage to pick apart Orton piece by piece.
6. MAIN EVENT-Tag Team Match
Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro and Dean Ambrose
Once again Smackdown finishes with a really enjoyable main event, the first three quarters of this match was mostly Rollins and Owens beating down Cesaro and Ambrose. Eventually Ambrose got the hot tag to Cesaro, one of my highlights of this match was Owens' huge suplex to Ambrose off the top rope. Ambrose also delivered a big suplex to Seth Rollins off the top rope.
The ending to this match saw Kevin Owens Irish whip Ambrose into the ropes for the PUP (Pop Up Powerbomb), Owens popped Ambrose up but Cesaro took Owens out from behind. Cesaro then executed a schoolboy for the 1...2...3 to pick up the victory for his team in the main event. Cesaro then runs over to the announce table where he poses for the crowd, Ambrose joins him in celebration to end the show.
Rating-***1/4, Winners-Cesaro and Dean Ambrose
Overall Show Rating-D+; This show felt way to dependent on the Main Event, besides the Main Event this show was a complete throwaway. Rollins and Owens vs. Ambrose and Cesaro was a really entertaining match although I don't think it got enough time to be considered a great match. That match was set up by the opening to the show with the Rollins promo and Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins which were okay segments but nothing that stands out.
Rusev vs. Jack Swagger had some good crowd involvement but I could never get into it because I don't care, Stardust vs. R-Truth was a squash match and the Tag Team Match was mildly entertaining.
