Angle gets back into the ring and blood is dripping from his face, he is a mess. But Angle would not say die against the unbeaten Samoan machine Samoa Joe, Joe dominated the middle part of this match but Angle would always get a move or two in.
The bit I want too talk about most is the ending. Kurt Angle took the straps down on his wrestling singlet and he locked in the ankle lock on Samoa Joe, Joe would counter a few times and eventually send Angle into the ring post. Angle hit Joe with an Angle Slam before taking his wrestling singlet straps down again, this lead to Angle locking in the Ankle Lock except this time he grape vined Joe's leg which forced Joe to tap out. Thus breaking his undefeated streak at the 18 month mark.
After the match Joe got on the microphone and told Angle that he should shake his hand and they can put all this behind them, but Angle wiped the blood on his forehead before walking off. Joe then said that this is going to be the hard way...
Rating-4.25/5, Time-13:42, Winner-Kurt Angle; This match wasn't a 5 star classic but for what it was I really enjoyed it. I can only how it would have felt at the time to see Samoa Joe's 18 month undefeated streak come to an end because watching it happen 9 years later it looks really dramatic. I'd recommend this match as it won't take up very much of your time and you will feel like you've spent your time wisely.
